Baby got new shoes today! Four Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 performance tires arrived today via UPS. The tires were ordered from Edge Racing online. These tires are sticky and the price is right. At only $85.00 each, these tires represent an uncommon value for their purpose. This new set of tires was purchased to replace an identical set of Hankooks on my Miata. Being that the car is relatively light, the tires wore unexpectedly slowly for a tire sporting a tread wear rating of only 200. I’m certainly not easy on my tires but the Hankooks were equal to the task.

After having used up a set already, I’m very impressed with the design. The outer edges sport exceptionally large tread blocks that are AA rated for traction and provide confident and powerful dry cornering grip. The relatively strait thick bands in the center provide great performance for starting and stopping and seem to track predictably on all types of pavement.

I would recommend these tires to anyone with a similar application.
