Weapon of mass distruction
By Brian | March 6, 2008
The Whipple Charger arrived today. 3.3 liters of forced induction goodies in a big white box. Feels a little like Christmas. The Ford GT should see a marked improvement in the holy crap factor.
The throttle body is a polished unit from Accufab and it accents the black wrinkle finish on the supercharger very nicely. Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail on the entire kit so far.
The supercharger is huge, heavy, and resembles a large vacuum cleaner. The rotor housings are the size of two liter soda bottles laid side by side. Truthfully, it looks like it would be more at home on the top of a dragster motor. Look at the hand in the photo and you’ll get an
idea how big this monster really is. The kit comes complete with two interchangeable pulley wheels. The pre-installed wheel should be good for more than 700 Hp at the wheels and a wild ride. The smaller pulley can be used to make more power with race gas.
The kit should be installed and on it’s way to the tuner on Saturday morning so look for a detailed install post to follow.
