2008 Houston Auto Show
By Brian | January 27, 2008
As is normally the case, this years show was generally uninspiring. There were a few interesting sites to take in. The Camaro concept was present although it’s becoming old in the sense that we’ve waited far too long for the real thing. The truly edgy concepts were still sitting in Detroit. This is one of my long standing peeves. Why can’t the fourth largest city in the US rate at least some of the cool new concepts? I’ve included a couple of shots in the left side bar of a couple of displays.
As a group, we had big fun at the Cadillac Bar for brunch. Great food choices and good company. My neighbor brought out his Ford GT for us to ogle in the parking lot. Ainsley was fortunate to witness the GT literally tear the white crosswalk stripes off the pavement as he and I dragged from the stop sign.
Jeff and Ainsley now have a new definition of terror as we were shuttled back from the car show in my neighbors M5. I remember hearing the phase “holy crap” and “that is sick” repeatedly from the back seat.
It was good fun, and as bad as the car show is, I’m sure we’ll be back again next year.
